It all started with a dream.
But it wasn’t my dream.
Heck, I wasn’t even born when The Mail House opened its door to the Fair Oaks community in 1980. That wouldn’t happen for another few years.
I grew up in and around the Fair Oaks community. I attended nearby Del Campo High School. After I got married, we settled into a home in Fair Oaks. For me, this has always been home.
In March 2014, we bought The Mail House. I didn’t know anything about running a business or the mail/shipping industry but thought “Alright, let’s do this,” not quite knowing what I was getting myself into.
Sometimes life likes to throw you a curve ball. Divorce does that, too. And that’s where my story at The Mail House really takes off. It was now a woman- owned small business.
The Mail House didn’t start as my dream but this was my chance to make it something I loved, and so I decided to take a chance.
I decided to create a business that was more reflective of me. A business with heart, charm and a feeling of home. A place where everyone feels welcomed. When I met Tyler, he could see my vision, and provided the support to help make it a reality.
Tyler is not from Fair Oaks. He grew up in nearby Rancho Cordova. Local still, but nothing’s quite like life in Fair Oaks. He learned that quickly. We got hitched in Sept. 2018 and have three kids (Peyton, Beckham and Oliver) who like to help out at the store part time and love even more to keep us on our toes all the time.
We are proud to be a part of this amazing community. If you’re nearby, stop in and check out our latest greeting cards or craft items, take a book from our Little Free Library or just to say “Hi!” We’d love to see you.
Welcome to The Mail House.
